The sweet note on the RB-211 was on the aircraft it was released on, the L-1011 TriStar. And it's called BASS. Rumble. At start up/idle. I found out more about the aircraft so here’s more: It is registered N546US It previously flew with NWA It is 27.3 years old It has 2 Pratt & Whitney 2037s And finally it is a Boeing 757-251(WL)

To know that my dad machined many of the blades for the prototype RB211 and seeing the affection for this engine makes me feel good.

I remember how much cooler the Lockheed TriStar sounded compared to the DC-10 because of this engine. Even more intense were the British Airways 747s with Rolls-Royce engines.

The sweet notes are F5 and F#5
